Seven cabinets were built, flattened and nested to publish this page. This is the fullest sheet of the batch, with its part marks, dados and holes. The drawing comes from the same code as the machine file, so it cannot drift from it.

What changes compared with a spreadsheet

One generator, twelve templates

Base cabinet, wall cabinet, oven column, sink base, wardrobe, bookcase, TV unit, vanity, workshop tool chest. These are not twelve programs but twelve sets of dimensions through the same generator, which is why any template can be pushed well outside its original size and still resolve.

Your hardware, not ours

Blum, Hettich, Salice and Accuride hinges and slides, plus trade-counter references. Each carries its real mounting geometry — K distance, screw centres, side clearance — so changing slide resizes every drawer box and moves the holes in the machine file. You can also enter your own supplier prices, which drive the quote.

The whole job, cut in one go

A kitchen is designed cabinet by cabinet but cut all at once: one carcass's offcuts take the small parts of the others. The app costs the difference between the two methods, to the sheet and to the euro.

The kitchen turns, and the worktop follows

Runs chain wall after wall: an L- or U-shaped kitchen is drawn the way it is fitted, turning at the corner. The worktop lays over the top, bridges the dishwasher, stops at the wall, and comes out in linear metres on the quote — it is bought by the length, not by the sheet, so it never enters the nesting.

Two-sided machining, handled as such

A shaker front and its hinge cups are machined on both faces. Programs are split per face, face B is mirrored about the sheet width, and a header announces the flip.

Stand it against the wall before you cut

The studio publishes a QR code. Scanning it shows the cabinet at real scale in the room. The model is rebuilt on the phone by the same generator as the studio: what you see against the wall is what gets cut.

What Cabinet·CNC does not do

Better to know before you try than after. These limits are deliberate, not accidental gaps.

  • No corner cabinets: a kitchen can turn — runs chain wall after wall — but the dead corner is filled with a filler and a blind cabinet, not with an L-shaped carcass, which falls outside the flat panel model.
  • No rail-and-stile doors: shaker fronts are milled out of the slab, which is what a straight cutter can do. A true five-piece frame needs profile tooling on a spindle moulder.
  • No cutter radius compensation (G41/G42): toolpaths are the tool centre. Simulate every program before you run it.
  • No curved work, no stone tops, no solid-wood movement modelling.

Frequently asked questions

Is Cabinet·CNC free?

Yes. The studio is free, with no account and no usage limit. There is no paid tier today.

Do I need to install anything?

No. It all runs in the browser. The computation happens on your machine: no drawing is sent to a server, and the app works offline once the page has loaded.

Which machine files does it produce?

GRBL- and Mach3-compatible G-code, one file per tool and per sheet, plus DXF R12 whose layer names carry the cut depth. Common CAM packages such as VCarve and Aspire read that layer convention.

Can I work in inches?

Yes. Dimensions display as fractions — 23 5/8 — and can be typed either that way or as decimals. The model stays in millimetres, so no rounding accumulates.

Is the G-code safe to run?

A test suite replays every program produced and checks that no rapid move enters the material, that no point is cut deeper than one pass at a time, and that the spindle starts before the first move. That is not the same as validation on your machine: air-cut or simulate every program before you cut.

How does it differ from Easel Cabinetmaker?

Cabinet·CNC lets you choose the hardware brand and enter your own prices, offers three interchangeable construction systems, nests the whole job in one go, and also produces a table-saw cut sequence. It also fits the worktop and costs its linear metres. It does not do corner cabinets.

Can I see the cabinet in the room before cutting?

Yes. The studio publishes a QR code; scanning it shows the cabinet at real scale in your room in augmented reality. The model is rebuilt on the phone from the same generator as the studio.
