Fitted base cabinet

An 1100 mm cabinet split into two bays: a pull-out with two 18-litre bins on the left, three drawers on the right with a cutlery tray milled into the bottom of the first. The two bays are not the same width, because the sorting kit needs 500 mm of clear opening.

On its own this cabinet uses only 28 % of the 4 sheets it consumes. That is normal, and it is why the app nests the whole job in one go: one carcass's offcuts take the small parts of the others.

What the generator flags

The bay is sized on what goes in it

A two-bin waste kit does not adapt: it wants its clear width, its slide depth and its height under the stretcher, or the frame simply will not go in. That is why the left bay is wider than the right, in a ratio of 1.15 to 1.

The generator starts from the kit's constraint and derives the carcass width from it, rather than the other way round. A shipped template should not raise a warning the moment you open it.

The cutlery tray is milled, not bought

The bottom of the first drawer takes flat-bottomed pockets that form the compartments. They come out in the same program as the rest of the panel, at the same cut depth, and appear in the DXF on a layer whose name carries that depth.

A bought-in cutlery tray imposes its sizes on the drawer; this one takes the drawer's sizes. That is the point of a parametric model: the constraint runs from the cabinet to the accessory, not the reverse.

Common questions

What cabinet width for a built-in waste sorting unit?

A two-bin 18-litre kit wants roughly 500 mm of clear inside width, so a 550 to 600 mm cabinet on its own. Always check the maker's data sheet: pull-out kits and door-mounted kits have different depth requirements.

Does the generator produce the waste kit's holes?

No, and it says so. The frame screws to the cabinet bottom following the maker's instructions, whose hole centres vary from one reference to the next. Cabinet·CNC reserves the volume and flags the manual operation rather than inventing holes.
